Bringing Mindfulness and Awareness into Daily Activities

Thursday, June 2nd, June 16th and July 7th, 2016 7:30pm – 9:00pm

Bat Fung will be leading us in mindfulness meditation practice for 3 weekly sessions starting from the 2nd June.  Mindfulness meditation is the practice of bringing a non-judgmental, friendly, open-hearted, and accepting way of looking at anything that arises in awareness. By intentionally practicing mindfulness, we can learn to spend less time on “auto pilot” and live more fully and be more present.  Each class will include an overview of some principles of mindfulness, as well as at least 30 minutes of silent mindfulness meditation practice.  New and experienced meditators alike are welcome.

Teacher

Bat Fung
This class will be led by Bat Fung. Bat Fung met his guru teachers, Doug Duncan and Catherine Pawasarat in 2003 in Japan, and has been studying and training with them ever since. He brings his wry sense of humour and pragmatic sensibilities to teaching meditation, and enjoys expounding on traditional Buddhists practices as well as interpreting meditation practices for everyday urban life. He works as an IT specialist by day, and has been living in Toronto for 3 years now, after living internationally for most of his life. He brings to life meditation practices for new and old students alike.

Dāna

Awaken in Toronto classes are offered on the basis of dāna in order to support opportunities for participants to develop their practice of generosity. We encourage you to give generously, however that looks for your situation.

All funds go towards the work of supporting awakening in the city.

Location

Thursday classes are held from 7:30pm to 9pm at Inhabit Pilates at 1211 Bathurst (just north of Dupont.) If you are driving, there is a parking lot for the studio one block east on Albany, just north of Bridgman.
